downloading, registering and unlocking photojunction

On this page we outline the steps involved in getting started with Photojunction. But first we should remind you of the following:

Unlock codes and Prepayment codes

An Unlock Code (or serial number) is required to activate (unlock) your Photojunction software. Depending on what you specify and pay for, you will receive a free, fully functional 60 day demonstration version of Photojunction or a full 12-month subscription.

We cannot issue your Unlock code prior to registration because our server must be connected to your computer to generate the code.

Normally you pay your Photojunction subscription fee and receive your unlock code(s) after downloading and installing the software, as part of the registration process. (The Registration window opens when you start Photojunction for the first time and asks you to register so that you can continue.)

If you pay in advance of registration we issue a Prepayment Code so that you can by-pass the payment screen when you do register.

Prepayment codes thus enable you to purchase Photojunction at trade shows etc prior to registering. (Normally we offer a discount if you subscribe, upgrade or resubscribe on the spot at a trade show). They are also a mechanism enabling third-party suppliers of the software (eg album suppliers) to distribute Photojunction.

If you purchase Photojunction through a third party or directly from us at trade shows, you should therefore ensure you receive a Prepayment Code so that our registration system can issue your Unlock Code without further charge.

step 1. download the software to your computer

There are separate installers for Windows and Macintosh.

Sometimes we offer a Public Beta version for subscribers who would like to try out new features before they go to final release. As a result of this exposure to a wider circle of users we expect that cosmetic changes and bug fixes will follow – and maybe even new functions. The Guide and QuickTime Classroom movies will not yet have been updated, but brief notes to introduce the new features will be posted on the Photojunction forum. We recommend you do not select the Public Beta unless you are experienced with the software and/or have a keen interest in the new features. Click here for more about public betas in general and the current version in particular.

Guides, classroom movies and supplier resources not included

The Photojunction PDF Guide describes the software in detail. The Photojunction Classroom (accessed from the Welcome screen or the File menu) offers brief QuickTime movies showing the software in action. Neither of these is included in the application installers. Neither are the " Supplier Resources" offered by album vendors who support Photojunction (these Resources enable you to design albums and send orders to them). You'll find links to download all these on the download page. The Guide and Classroom, but not album supplier resources, are included on the Photojunction installation CD.

Downloading

Clicking on the installer you selected will begin the download process (you'll need to be online). Once downloading is complete the Installer itself will appear on your desktop. Open the Installer.

The installer is a “custom install”. In other words, you need to check the items thatyou want to install. The application itself should be checked. If you want to install our sample music file, check that box as well.

Once you have done so click continue and the software and/or supplier resources will be placed in the appropriate locations on your computer. Just follow the prompts.

Once you have begun using the software the Installer itself can be deleted.

step 2: register, pay for and unlock the software

Photojunction will be licensed to use on a specific computer (standard subscriptions allow you to register on two computers).

You must register the software on the computer ON WHICH YOU INTEND TO USE IT.

When you start up the software for the first time the Register Photojunction window will open and step you through the process.

You’ll need to be online (if you can’t get on-line from this computer, read on). Follow the on-screen prompts and Photojunction will log you on to our secure Registration server using your internet browser. Have your credit card (or Prepayment Code) ready.

You will be asked what version you want to register. You can choose either a free 60-day trial (once only) or a full unlock (12-month subscription).

If you don't have a Prepayment Code just leave the fields blank when prompted and move on. You'll be prompted to enter your credit card details to pay any charges due.

Photojunction will transmit the information you enter, including your card details and the ID number of your computer.

When you have completed the process, assuming you’re still on-line Photojunction will download your Unlock code from the server automatically and unlock the software so you can use it on this computer.

If the computer on which you want to use Photojunction is not connected to the internet, you'll need to start registration on the off-line computer, as above, then complete the process on another computer that is connected. Photojunction will step you through the process. Visit the web address that Photojunction advises to manually enter the computer ID of the off-line computer so that the server can generate your unlock code. You will then enter the normal on-line Registration process and receive the necessary unlocks by email. You will need to manually enter the code, following the prompts.

The expiry date of your subscription will in future appear at the bottom of Photojunction's Welcome screen whenever you open the program. The software will prompt you to re-register when the licence period is nearly up.

If you upgrade your computer hardware you may be prompted to re-register as the ID number of your computer may change. In such cases, email us for assistance.
